Forward: Conquering the North Pole
January 18, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Kick off the new year with Studio/E as we gather for an evening of adventure, humanity, and inspiration. Meet Tyler Fish, one of the first Americans to succeed in an unsupported expedition to the North Pole.
What does it mean to be unsupported in an expedition? Fish and his partner in exploration John Huston define the term as the ability to travel using only human muscle power, without outside assistance in the form of resupplies, medical aid or food drops. Over a period of two months, Fish and Huston, completed a remarkable trek, skiing more than 500 miles with sleds in tow containing 300 pounds of supplies necessary for survival.
At this event, Fish will share his journey: the preparation, routines, personal struggles, and his “why”, the desire that drove him to embark on the expedition and fueled him to push the limits of human endurance and persevere in the extreme unknown. Attendees will receive a copy of Fish’s book, Forward.
