Studio/E Tour: Eyewitness Views at Mia
October 12 @ 5:45 pm - 8:30 pm
Keeping up with what’s happening in the world isn’t exactly a new phenomenon, even though today we’re using phenomenally powerful and immediate technology. Indeed, there was a time – a remarkable time – when reporters, sponsored by wealthy princes, popes and wealthy patrons, boasted paintbrushes instead of cell phones and told rich stories instead of tweeting out mini soundbites.
Want to know more? Then join Studio/E and our dear friends at the Minneapolis Institute of Art on Thursday, November 16th for a tour of Eyewitness Views | Making History in 18th-Century Europe.
Prior to the tour, we will gather for a private conversation where Nate Garvis and Studio/E member and Mia’s Chief Engagement officer, Kristin Prestegaard, will present an overview of the exhibit. And then it’s on to see 50 events captured on canvas.
This gathering takes place during Mia’s Third Thursday programming, so the museum will be bustling. You can expect live music from a band called Seaberg as well as drinks and socializing with the public afterwards. The theme for this particular Third Thursday is Art & Lit.
Bring your friends, bring your family. There is only space for 40, so please register quickly if you are interested in joining us. See you in the 17th century!
