Celebrate What’s Right With the World

Your Mindset is the lens through which you see the world. It is so powerful that it determines your perceptions and attitudes about what is in front of you. If your Mindset is one of scarcity and fear, you see dead ends and closed doors. But if it is abundant, you see the endless possibilities which surround you.

The TED Talk below is a beautiful illustration of how influential your Mindset really is. In it, former National Geographic photographer Dewitt Jones encourages viewers to look at the world through a lens of celebration; to identify what is right in every situation and to seek possibility instead of focusing on scarcity. He explores the difference between a fearful and abundant Mindset, and tells the story through his remarkable photos.

As a photographer, Dewitt has spent years transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. But one need not be a photographer to think like this. All you need to do is change your Mindset, or your lens.

Called Celebrate What’s Right With the World, this talk will change the way you look at the world. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Do this: Look around you. Write down five things you see which are worth celebrating. Is there an interesting shadow on the wall? Do you see someone smiling? Reflect on what is right and see how that changes your view of the world. As Dewitt says, change your lens, change your life.
