Breaking the Barriers of Human Potential

Best known from her swim across the Bering Straight in 1987, open-water swimmer Lynne Cox does more than just cross bodies of water; she weaves people — and nations — together. Her swim to Russia was a diplomatic move, opening the US-Soviet Union border for the first time in 48 years. Similarly, Lynne swam across Lake Titicaca from Bolivia to Peru, enhancing the relations between the two countries.

Knowledge Box: Motivation

There is something about the changing seasons that is very motivating. Maybe it’s the respite from the heat, maybe it’s the striking colors, the chili or the football. Whatever it is, fall finds us feeling motivated, which is why we’ve dedicated October’s Knowledge Box to this theme.

Jared Hanks is among the younger Studio/E members, but his contributions compare well to those with far more years under their belt. At Juxtaposition Arts, an organization that connects young talent from the north side of Minneapolis to the creative economy, Jared runs outreach and engagement.
